Your privacy is not optional.
It's the foundation.
dChats Messenger was built with a simple belief: private conversations should stay private. This policy explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and why.

Information We Collect
When you register for dChats Messenger, we collect your phone number as your unique identifier. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal profile information unless you voluntarily provide it. Your phone number is used solely to create and authenticate your account and to enable message delivery.
We may collect limited technical data such as device model, operating system version, and app version to ensure compatibility and deliver software updates. This data is never linked to your identity or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
Usage metadata — such as the time and frequency of your connections — may be collected to improve network performance and detect fraudulent activity. We do not collect content-level usage data such as which contacts you message or what topics you discuss.
How We Protect Your Data
All messages sent through dChats Messenger are protected by end-to-end encryption using the Signal Protocol. This means your messages are encrypted on your device before transmission and can only be decrypted by the intended recipient. dChats Messenger's servers never have access to the plaintext content of your messages.
Your encrypted messages in transit pass through our infrastructure but are stored only temporarily until delivery is confirmed. Once delivered, messages are not retained on our servers. If a message cannot be delivered within 30 days, it is permanently deleted.
We use industry-standard TLS 1.3 encryption for all connections between the dChats Messenger app and our servers, protecting your data against interception during transmission.
What We Do Not Do
dChats Messenger does not sell your personal data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. We do not build advertising profiles based on your messaging behaviour, contact lists, or usage patterns. There are no advertisements in dChats Messenger, and your data plays no role in financing our platform.
We do not share your information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances: (a) with your explicit consent; (b) when required to comply with a valid legal process, in which case we will provide only the minimal data we hold, which is your phone number, registration date, and last connection date; (c) to protect the safety of our users in cases of imminent harm.
We do not use your messages, photos, or any content to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
Your Rights & Controls
You have the right to access the personal data dChats Messenger holds about you. You may request a copy of your data at any time through the dChats Messenger app settings. You also have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated data — this can be done directly from the app and takes effect within 90 days.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively, including the right to data portability, restriction of processing, and objection to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@dChats Messenger.io.
You may control which permissions dChats Messenger has on your device (microphone, camera, contacts, storage) through your device's operating system settings at any time.
Cookies & Tracking
The dChats Messenger mobile application does not use cookies. Our website (dChats Messenger.io) uses only essential cookies necessary for site functionality, such as session management and security tokens. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics services that monitor your behaviour across websites.
Our website uses a self-hosted analytics solution that collects anonymised, aggregated traffic data (page views, referrer, country) without tracking individual users or storing personally identifiable information. This data is used solely to understand aggregate traffic patterns and improve our website.
International Data Transfers
dChats Messenger operates globally and your data may be processed in countries other than where you reside. Wherever your data is processed, we apply the same privacy protections described in this policy. For users in the European Economic Area, transfers to third countries are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
Our primary data centres are located in the European Union and the United States. We have technical and organisational measures in place at every facility to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this policy regardless of jurisdiction.
