Your privacy is not optional — it's the default

dChats Messenger was built from the ground up with a radical idea: you shouldn't have to trust us with your private conversations. End-to-end encryption ensures that nobody — not hackers, not governments, not even dChats Messenger — can read what you send. Privacy is not a premium feature. It's how dChats Messenger works.

dChats Messenger security and encryption

The Signal Protocol — Gold Standard of Encryption

dChats Messenger uses the open-source Signal Protocol for end-to-end encryption — the same protocol used by Signal, and widely endorsed by cryptography researchers and security auditors worldwide. This is not marketing language. The Signal Protocol provides forward secrecy (meaning past messages can't be decrypted even if your keys are compromised) and break-in recovery, making it the most robust messaging encryption available today.

When you send a message on dChats Messenger, it is encrypted on your device before it leaves. The encrypted packet travels to our servers and is delivered to your recipient. Our servers never hold a decrypted version of your message. We cannot read it. Nobody can.

What We Do Not Store

dChats Messenger's approach to data minimisation is aggressive by design. We do not store your message content. We do not store who you message or how often. We do not store your call history or call duration. We do not store your location data. The list of things we do not store is, intentionally, much longer than what we do.

What we do store, temporarily, is just enough to route your messages: your phone number for account creation, the date you registered, and the date you last connected. That's it. If we receive a government subpoena, this minimal data is all there is to provide.

Two-Step Verification — Your Account, Your Control

Beyond message encryption, dChats Messenger provides account-level security through two-step verification. This adds a PIN that must be entered when registering your phone number with dChats Messenger again — meaning even if someone intercepts your SMS verification code, they still can't access your account without knowing your PIN.

A backup email address lets you create a recovery code for your PIN in case you forget it. This email is also end-to-end encrypted and never used for marketing purposes.

Biometric Lock & Disappearing Messages

If you share a device or are concerned about physical access, dChats Messenger's biometric lock feature ties app access to your fingerprint or face scan. The app won't open without it — even if someone knows your phone PIN.

Disappearing messages add another layer of protection by automatically deleting chat content after a configurable timer: 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days. This reduces the volume of sensitive content sitting on any device in case it is ever lost or accessed without permission.
